zhoukaiyaokaren

If you love extreme freedom, nature and adventure, you can always find your destination in the Bahamas. There are plenty of private islands waiting to be developed to fulfill your dream of building your own kingdom. Today we're going to explore Darby Island in Exuma Archipelago in Eastern Bahamas.

Situated very near popular island resorts and existing airstrips, Darby Island is just 95 miles from Nassau, 14 miles from Great Exuma, and 250 miles from Miami. It nestled almost in the center of the chain of some 360 islands known as Exuma Cays which is the yachting, sailing and fishing paradise of the Bahamas. Other islands in the region are also known as "Billionaires Row". Darby Island boasts many celebrity neighbors, such as Tyler Perry, Leonardo Dicaprio, Johnny Depp, magician David Copperfield, as well as other business magnates and industry moguls, such as the Aga Khan, Bernard Arnault, Dona Bertarelli and many more.

Darby Island has a wide range of potentials and has all the basic essentials for development.

Unique landscape: Covering 554 acres, Darby Island is 2.3 kilometers long and 1.3 kilometers wide, with elevations as high as 87’. Surrounded by clear turquoise waters, the island has 14 beaches, some 21,650 feet of ocean frontage, a stretch of pink sandbars, and an exotic network of caves and coves. James Bond movie “Thunderball” was filmed here in the regions. The island can support a 3,000 ft. to 5,000 ft. runway and is adjacent to a protected natural deep harbor with a dock accommodating over 100 ft. yachts.

Abundant flora and fauna: Darby Island was a working plantation with goats, cotton, palm oil and fruit as its products. Rich native species such as billfish, dolphins, wahoo, grouper and bonefish can also be found inhabiting these waters.

Imposing castle: Rare islands have castles on them, and even fewer on private ones. Darby Island is home to a 7,000-square-foot castle built in 1938 by Sir Guy Baxter that offers a 360-degree view of the entire island. Although dilapidated and in disrepair, the castle could easily be rebuilt into a spectacular home or clubhouse, and a survey of the proposed development is available.

Various island activities: The harbor between Darby island and the neighboring islands is a favorite snorkeling dive spot for visitors to see friendly Eagle or Leopard Rays. People can also fish in the shallows of the area's waters and sail yachts or sailboats. If you are imaginative enough, you can also develop more interesting activities with this valuable island and sea resources.

All these provide investors with stability and ease in property transfer. With the development of the island economy, the government has provided fairly loyal terms for foreign investors, so the Bahamas are in high demand and value on the real estate market.
